Ordering options

In spring, you can plant your Chincherinchee in either the ground or in a flower pot. When planting the bulbs, make sure that the depth of the hole is twice as large as the height of the bulb. A 5 cm bulb thus needs to be planted in a 10 cm hole. Plant the Chincherinchee bulbs in good, loose soil, spaced approximately 10-15 cm apart. Fill the hole with soil. You can plant the Chincherinchee bulbs using a trowel or special bulb planter. Chincherinchee grows best in loose, well-drained soil in a sunny or partially sunny spot.
Chincherinchee makes an excellent combination plantThe beautiful white flowers and their sturdy stems are definitely an eye-catcher in the border. This plant takes up minimal space and grows well between lower plants. You can create colourful displays in your border or flowerbed with flowers such as the Alstroemeria 'Dandy Candy' or Dutch Irises. Chincherinchee grows well in a flower pot or planter.
Chincherinchee is originally from South Africa. You've surely seen these flowers in bouquets before. The star-shaped white flowers have a green stripe along the outside. Chincherinchee makes an excellent cut flower and lasts a long time in a vase. So, don't let your flower garden miss out on these cut flowers! Preferably pick the flowers early in the morning. Place its stems immediately into a vase full of lukewarm water with flower food. Due to their strong stems, the flowers can easily 'reach' for water. This bulb is also known as Cape Bethlehem.
Water your Chincherinchee regularly to prevent the soil around the bulbs from drying out. Remove the faded flowers regularly to encourage a good growth. For an extra rich flowering, we recommend to add plant food when watering on a regular basis during the summer.
Chincherinchee can be preserved throughout the winterChincherinchee bulbs are not hardy, but they can be easily preserved during the winter. Water the bulbs in autumn. Shake any soil from the bulbs and place them in a box with compost and sharp sand. Store the bulbs in a frost-free area. Attach a label with the plant's name to remind yourself for next year. Next spring, you can plant them again and Chincherinchee will reward you with its beautiful flowers.
