Dwarf Lupins 'Gallery Mixture' - Plant

The Dwarf Lupins grow best in moderately light and slightly acid, well-drained, sandy soil in full sun or partial shade. Prepare a suitable hole, improve poor garden soil by mixing in some peat. Plant the Dwarf Lupins at the appropriate depth in the hole. The top of the root ball should be just below ground level. Fill the hole with soil and press firmly. Water immediately after planting. 

With their compact growth and fantastic blend of colours, Dwarf Lupins are great for the border. You can plant these colourful perennials next to Tanacetum Coccineum and Sidalcea Oregana 'Party Girl'.

The fresh green leaves of this plant are uniquely shaped. The flowers grow in long clusters around the stems. Sometimes they change tones and they often fade, but still look beautiful. The flowers tend to have short, sturdy stems which is why they don't need any support. The flowers have a light floral fragrance.

Dwarf Lupins are hardy perennials. Be sure to prevent the soil around the roots from drying out as very dry soil is poorly tolerated. Cut down once the flowers have faded and they may flower again later in the autumn. The formation of seeds may deplete the plant. In winter, cover this plant with a layer of fallen leaves.
