The large flowered Dahlia ‘Ice Crystal’ looks great planted in the flower border. They are also ideal for planting in the cut flower garden so that you can cut and enjoy them in the home. Plant the dahlia tubers as soon as possible after receiving them from us. Dahlias are frost sensitive, so be careful of late night frost. Prepare a spacious planting hole, loosen the soil well and fill the planting hole with fertile soil. Plant the tubers carefully into the hole spaced about 30 cm from each other, cover them with 3-5 cm of soil. Press the soil gently and water immediately. Dahlias will bloom best in complete sunshine.

The large flowered dahlia ‘Ice Crystal’ is a striking newcomer with marvellous large green yellow to white flowers. Every petal is incised at the end, just like ice crystals. Dahlia 'Ice Crystal' is an excellent cut flower that will last a long time in a vase. The best time to cut the dahlias, is early in the day. Put the stems directly into a large vase of lukewarm water along with cut flower food.

Dahlia ‘Ice Crystal’ will flower extra rich with a monthly fertilisation. Deadhead the faded flowers to prolong the flowering period. Make sure the soil does not dry out in dry periods. Dahlia tubers can easily be overwintered. If you want to do this, dig up the plants after the first night frost. Then cut all stems off 15 cm above the tuber. Attach a label with the name of the dahlia to remind yourself for the next year. Shake the soil from the dahlia tubers and place in a box with peat dust or sharp sand. Store the dahlia tubers in a frost free area. Next spring you can plant the dahlia tubers again and they will reward you with their wonderful flowers!
