Onion 'Centurion' F1 Hybrid
Onion 'Centurion F1 Hybrid' can be planted in rows between late February and mid-April. The distance between rows is about 30 cm. The distance between the onions is about 8 cm. Plant the onions in the ground just below ground level. Onions grow best under complete sunshine.
Onion 'Centurion' F1 hybrid (Allium cepa) is an elongated onion, firm with a fine flavour. A 1kg pack will produce 40 kg of mature onions. Be sure to have some parsley, chamomile and marigold nearby to keep onion flies away from the plant. Onions are very healthy and contain high levels of calcium, phosphorus and vitamin C. Onion Sets should have a rotation cycle when planted at home as root crops.
Onion ‘Centurion’ is an easy-to-grow vegetable and is ideal for any new gardener. Mix some garden fertilizer into the ground preferably in the winter: about 50 grams per square metre. Sprinkle 40 grams of potassium per square meter. Make sure that after planting you keep the area free from weeds. Provide extra water during dry periods so that the onions develop well. In very wet summers, you can harvest a few weeks earlier.
Harvesting onionsFrom mid-July onwards, you can start harvesting Allium cepa 'Centurion'. When about half the foliage has turned brown, the onions can be lifted from the soil. Hang them in bunches to dry. Onions can be stored for a long time in a cool and dry place.
